Welcome to Cathedral Mountain Vineyard, a cherished family endeavor nestled in the heart of the high desert mountains of Far West Texas. Located just a stone's throw south of Alpine in Brewster County, our vineyard benefits from the area’s distinctive climatic and geological features: warm arid days and cool, refreshing nights, combined with mineral-rich, rocky, volcanic soil, create the ideal conditions for cultivating Spanish and Rhone-inspired wines that capture the essence of this rugged landscape.

With the iconic backdrop of Cathedral Mountain, our estate vineyard extends across 10 acres and sits at a breathtaking elevation of 4,900 feet. The vines are meticulously planted on a steep west-facing hillside, offering not only a timeless terroir but also granting awe-inspiring vistas. The elevation tempers the Chihuahuan Desert's dry daytime heat, ensuring our grapes ripen to perfection. Also key to our vineyard’s character are the shallow, volcanic soils that overlay fractured igneous rock. This unique soil composition infuses our grapes with distinctive flavors, setting them apart from the rest.

Jenny and Will Wood, who call both San Antonio and Alpine, Texas, home, are the owners of Cathedral Mountain Vineyard. The Woods also own and operate Calamity Creek Cattle Company, a cattle and ranching operation on the surrounding property. Their Verified Natural Beef is a perfect pairing with our deep rich wine. As adept stewards of these lands, the Woods have fostered an ever-growing population of native wildlife at Cathedral Mountain to create a true West Texas Treasure.
